Recycled frames
Harlyn frames contain 0% virgin plastics, 100% recycled end-of-life fishing nets from small scale Cornish fishing fleets. These nets would have otherwise been considered a waste problem destined for landfill or incineration. The turquoise ‘seaglass’ colouration of the Harlyn frame is entirely derived from the original netting and has no additional pigments or dyes. The frames feature five barrel hinges for maximum durability. Our frames are covered by our ‘Recycle and Replace’ lifetime guarantee – damaged frames components can go back into the plastic recycling loop to create new pairs. Every frame is unique, with a matte finish. Minor imperfections, such as a grain of sand, are occasionally embedded within the plastic – alluding to its origin and in our opinion, adding character.
Bio-Polarised Optics
We’ve paired our Harlyn frames with lightweight cellulose-based plastic polarised lenses, offering a performance balance option with 75% reduced lens weight and superior impact resistance. The smoke-tint lenses feature anti-reflection inner coatings and full spectrum UV400 protection.
All of our lenses are fully polarised, eliminating glare from reflective surfaces of water, reflective surfaces and wet roads.
